David’s journey into audit and compliance began during his undergraduate years at the University of Hong Kong. Eight Years in the Big Four
After graduating with his accounting degree, David spent eight years with Deloitte Hong Kong. He didn’t just conduct audits—he learned what auditors really need to see. He helped clients design control environments that actually worked, not just on paper. He understood the Companies Ordinance inside and out because he’d applied it to real companies facing real pressures. By the end of his time there, he’d worked with dozens of organizations, from mid-market manufacturers to growing tech companies. But he noticed something.
The Gap He Discovered
Smaller and mid-sized Hong Kong enterprises didn’t have the same resources as large corporations. They couldn’t hire dedicated compliance teams. Many owners felt lost when auditors showed up with checklists and technical language. So David moved to the Hong Kong Institute of Certified Public Accountants as a technical advisor for five years.
